1970-1972 Dash Cluster Mounting Hardware, SS Models Only (set)

1970-1972 Dash Cluster Mounting Hardware, SS Models Only (set),The 1970–1972 Chevelle Dash Cluster Mounting Hardware Set for SS Models Only (commonly cataloged under aftermarket parts or vendor SKU ICMH5957) provides the factory-correct hardware required to secure the round-gauge “SS-style” performance instrument carrier.

Unlike the standard Malibu or base models that utilized a sweeping speedometer setup, the SS, El Camino SS, and Monte Carlo packages featured an entirely distinct, round-gauge housing configuration requiring specific structural fasteners to line up correctly with the dash bezel.
  • Fastener Profile: Typically includes a set of longer 1/4-inch hex head or specialized structural screws engineered specifically for the deep recess layout of the round-pod gauges.
  • Application Fitment: Explicitly fits 1970, 1971, and 1972 Chevelle SS, El Camino SS, and Monte Carlo round-gauge dashboards. It will not function on base Malibu sweeping speedometer assemblies.

When mounting or converting to an SS cluster on a workbench before final cabin installation, restoration builders typically require two localized screw kits to complete the task:
  1. Housing-to-Dash Hardware (This Kit): Typically a 7 or 8-piece fastener configuration required to physically bolt the cluster housing framework to the main dash structure.
  2. Bezel-to-Cluster Screws: A separate, finer 8-piece screw set (such as part DP-1132) that connects the front decorative outer finish bezel flush to the gauge face assembly.
