The 1967 SS Wheel Horn Cap Mounting Kit is a direct-fit reproduction hardware set designed . This factory-correct kit provides the necessary interior mounting components required to firmly anchor the center horn cap down onto an original or reproduction optional Deluxe SS 3-spoke steering wheel.
Assembly Architecture & Hardware Components
This complete small-component set features the exact mechanical layout needed to complete the steering wheel core assembly:

- Plastic Insulating Ring: Seals the ground pathways to avoid unintended horn contact arching.
- Belleville Spring Steel Element: A round, spring-steel tension piece with two locating ears that generates physical flex resistance when pushing down on the horn assembly.
- Steel Horn Button Holder Ring: The mechanical base frame cup that holds the outer cap. A plastic index ring outfitted with 3 mounting screw holes, complete with the 3 correct-length mounting shoulder screws.
- Rubber Cushion Ring: Slips around the primary steel holder ring to tightly lock the horn cap face into position.
Functional Factory Assembly Order
Once your main steering wheel structure is torqued onto the steering column shaft with the washer and nut, follow this stacking route down the center:
- Position the Plastic Insulating Ring down at the bottom.
- Layer the Spring Steel piece (concave ears oriented properly) over the isolator.
- Seat the Steel Horn Button Holder Ring on top.
- Align the Plastic Ring with 3 screw holes and sink the 3 screws through all underlying elements to anchor them to the wheel core (leave them slightly dynamic so the spring can move).
- Wrap the Rubber Ring onto the steel holder to receive your SS cap.
