Unlike the primary terminals that plug straight into the factory fuse slot via the reversing adapter, the dedicated ground strap must be screwed down directly into clean, unpainted structural metal on the dashboard support or vehicle firewall. Failing to secure a crisp ground will prevent the internal electronic oscillator from cycling, meaning your lights will remain stuck or unlit when you push the turn stalk.
